How to use Filters?

Filters in Bizzy allow you to narrow your search results within our company database, which contains all existing companies in the country you are searching in. They help you build prospect lists that match your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and focus on the organizations and contacts most relevant to your target market.

The function of filters

Filters are applied on top of Bizzy’s complete national company database. Each filter refines your results based on specific characteristics, such as company size, industry, or recent activity, so you can focus on the companies that truly fit your target audience.
Typical use cases include:

  • Identifying companies in a specific segment or region

  • Detecting organizations showing hiring or expansion signals

  • Building personalized prospect lists aligned with your ICP

Filter groups

All filters are grouped by category to make navigation easier. You can currently find filters under these groups:

  • Company – characteristics such as size, sector, location, and employee count

  • Contact – allowing you to find organizations that have your target persona already identified within their team, making it easier to reach the right person

  • Updates – recent company events such as funding, new locations, or expansions

  • Vacancy – to discover companies that are currently hiring for specific roles

  • Include/Exclude lists – the option to include or exclude specific Bizzy lists (for example, previously exported or saved company lists)

  • Include/Exclude CRM companies – the option to include or exclude companies that already exist in your connected CRM system
For a detailed explanation of each filter and practical examples, you can find dedicated helpdesk articles here.

Adding filters

Click Add filter at the top of your search view. Once clicked, the filter panel will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.

At the top of this panel, you will see Suggested filters, these are either newly released or commonly used filters. If you are new to Bizzy, we recommend you to explore the full list of available filters instead of limiting your search to the suggested ones.

Combining filters

You can combine multiple filters to make your search more precise. However, using too many filters at once can narrow down your results significantly.
Our best practice recommendations:

  1. Start with company filters
Begin by applying filters that define relevant companies. Once you have a relevant company base, you can combine these with filters on contact, vacancy, or update level to refine further.

  2. Apply only must-have criteria first
Start with one, two, or three filters that represent your most essential ICP criteria. Review your search results and check if they align with your expectations. If needed, add more filters step by step to make your results more specific. Starting with too many filters can cause you to overlook potential opportunities.

Saving your filtered results

Once you’ve found the right filters and search results, you can save them into lists for easy follow-up. Bizzy offers two types of lists:

  • Smart lists: automatically remember your filters and update the results over time as new companies or contacts match your criteria.

  • Static lists: save only the search results at the moment you create the list. They do not save the filters you used to generate those results.
You can learn more about how to create and manage lists here.

Summary

Filters are a powerful way to move from Bizzy’s full national company database to a focused list of your ideal prospects. Start broad, refine gradually, and combine filters thoughtfully to identify and save the companies and contacts that best fit your target market.
